Don
has worked as a consulting wildlife biologist on various projects for both
private industry and government in the Canadian High Arctic, northern Alberta
and the Rocky Mountains. From 1989 until 2002, he worked for the Alberta Fish
and Wildlife Division as its Coordinator of Information and Education.
As a freelance writer, Don has written
several articles for magazines and newspapers. He currently writes a column,
"Rubs, Scrapes and Tangle, signs along the way" for the Alberta
Outdoorsmen. The column focuses on outdoor ethics and issues. In 1990, his
young-adult outdoor adventure novel, Dog Runner, won the Writers Guild of
Alberta Award of Excellence for Children's Literature.
