Congratulations, Webbie!

Those of you who do not know who Webbie is, don't know what they are missing! But Webbie is our good friend, Grahame Webb. He managed to win the prestigious Clunies Ross National Science and Technology Award for his outstanding commitment and contribution to the application of science and technology in Australia and for his inspirational leadership of future scientists.

Between you and I, as long as his "inspirational leadership" remains with the field of conservation the world-wide supporters of sustainable utilization, and indeed, those supporters of sound conservation principles will forever have a mentor who can show the way and see beyond the darkness of emotion and preservationist ideologies that serve in a counter-productive manner towards the conservation of species.

Congratulations, Grahame, from those who hold you high in their esteem, you have made us all very proud!

Obituary

David McTaggart: 1932-2001

In spite of differences of opinion and even though he was not a friend of the sustainable use community, IWMC would like to recognize David McTaggart's dedication to his conservation beliefs. May he rest in peace.
