Tuna 2002, Kuala Lumpur
29-31 May 2002

Measures are being taken internationally to create more responsible tuna fisheries through concerted efforts. In May 2002, the industry will meet again to share views, obtain first-hand information on the strengths and opportunities as well as to discuss current problems and future prospects.

For the first time, Tuna 2002 will be held in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia, strategically located in the middle of the Asian "Tuna Triangle" of Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand.

The Conference is organized by INFOFISH (Intergovernmental Organization for marketing Information and Technical Advisory Services for Fishery Products in the Asia and Pacific Region) jointly with FAO-GLOBEFISH, the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission, the Ministry of Agriculture Malaysia in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries, and Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia.

Dig in, but look out
for the Royal Buckshot

Queen Elizabeth has started her second commercial venture, a shop near Windsor Castle that sells royal produce and game.

The Windsor Farm Shop has meat, dairy produce and plants from the queen's estates - Windsor, Sandringham and Balmoral - the pheasants, some of them shot by the hunt-loving royals. "Our produce is free range, and we hope soon to be organic," general manager Craig Brittain told London's Mirror.

The queen's first store was the Buckingham Palace gift shop. No royals were involved in the crafting of souvenir tea cups and saucers. (Source: St. Petersburg Times, October 19, 2001).
