Physically Challenged
Sportsmen's Association- IPCSA(c)
Douglas Warren,
Director
|
The
IPCSA began in the year 2000 with the goal of sending two Physically Challenged
hunters on the hunt of a lifetime to South Africa courtesy of Sandhurst Safaris.
Since that successful trip in February of 2001, we have expanded the scope of
our mission to include working with television, print, and other media sources
to bring attention to the Physically Challenged Sportsman and the sometimes
special needs that they require to enjoy the Outdoor sports.
Our work also includes working with organizations like Houston Safari Club,
Buckmasters, Ted Nugent USA and others in programs for the Physically
Challenged. Most recently our volunteer staff has expanded to include Mr. Max
Thomas, a noted hunter, sportsman, and a champion in his efforts to educate the
physically challenged. Max himself has been confined to a wheel chair for the
past 21 years. He will be working as a spokesman in our television awareness
campaigns along with USA Olympic trap Shooter Lance Bade.
This next year we will also be working with The Step Outside(c) program, a
grant funded program of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, in their
efforts to encourage people both physically challenged and not, to Step Outside
and learn about the outdoors and to share their knowledge and love of the
outdoors with others. We are also expanding our efforts to reach out to the
sporting industry guides world wide in an effort to make them aware both
emotionally and monetarily of the benefits of marketing their services to the
physically challenged and also to educate them in the special needs required
when guiding a Physically Challenged Sportsman.
