Biography

Mrs. Dalia Salabarria graduated in the University of La Havana, in 1966, Degree in Biological Sciences, Specialized in Marine Biology. She obtained her doctorate in Biological Sciences at the Science Academy of Hungary in 1989.

She worked as a Scientist Researcher for 10 years at the Institute of Oceanography of the Science Academy of Cuba and, since 1977, she works in the environmental field. At present she is working at the Environmental Information, Management and Education Centre, of the Ministry of Sciences, Technology and Environment, as Chief of the Department of Environmental Management. She has been involved in CITES activities and represented Cuba through the entire process of elaboration, negotiation and implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity.
