Biography

Prof. Milton Freeman is Senior Research Scholar at the Canadian Circumpolar Institute, University of Alberta. His research interests include subsistence, sustainable use and indigenous systems of knowledge and resource stewardship. Prof. Freeman has served as Chairman of the UNESCO-MAB Northern Science Network and was a member of the IUCN Commission on Ecology, and Working Group on Traditional Ecological Knowledge. He is currently a member of the IUCN Sustainable Use Specialist Group for North America.
