Biography

Born in Lausanne, Switzerland. In 1957, graduate of the Zurich Federal Polytechnic School with a degree in Agronomy Engineering. From 1963 to 1974, Director of an agricultural technical assistance project in Dahomey (now Benin), West Africa. From 1975 to 1997, CITES Secretariat Executive Secretary, then Deputy Secretary General and finally Adviser. Since October 1997, Executive Vice-President of IWMC and President of IWMC-CH.
