Summary

The evolution and development of the Musk Deer Breeding Institute of Sichuan Province is introduced. A number of achievements in Musk deer breeding and farming, as well the technique of extracting musk pod from the live animal have been gained, which makes the industrialized musk deer farming possible. Artificial breeding and farming is an important way to the protection of the wild population and the sustainable use of the resources of musk deer, for which the government take it as a priority. The future development prospect of the institute is also introduced.
